September 2022 News of the Month

  Happy Fall, Y’all!

I hope you have been well and enjoyed the summer. I haven’t done a newsletter in a few months, so I’m grateful to have the time to write this. Speaking of gratitude- My heart is full of gratitude for my team and for all of our clients in 2022. You may have heard that the Jamison Durham Group has been the top team at Blackwell Realty for the last three months in a row. We couldn’t do that without your trust and all of the friends, family and co-workers that you refer to us. So, thank you. Thank you so much.
 
Also- you may have heard that mom became very ill back on July 16th. It was traumatic for my whole family, and we almost lost her. We spent 21 days at VUMC downtown, and then a week after she came home she had to go back to the hospital for another week. If you’ve ever had a family member experience something like that, you know how hard it can be. You know how hard you have to fight sometimes just to make sure that they get the care and attention that they need. So that’s another reason I’m going into  this fall with a heart full of gratitude. My business is our clients and our clients are the reason I can devote so much time and attention to my mom’s recovery. I couldn’t do that if I was an agent only closing the occasional deal. I couldn’t do that without a team of professionals that I trust to do things the right way. So, again- thank you. Y’all don’t know how much of a blessing you have been to me and my family.
 
Finally- I’m sure you’ve seen and heard a lot of conflicting information about the housing market over the summer. Is it bad? Is it good? Are we headed towards a crash (short answer-NO)? However, we’re definitely seeing a shift that is making it easier for buyers to buy. It’s been a great time lately for everyone who wasn't able to compete with all of the cash “over asking” offers of the last two years. If you know someone thinking about selling- they’re going to have to be a little more reasonable when it comes to asking price and be willing to sit on the market a few days longer. Overall, I miss “historically low interest rates” as much as the next person but I think what we are seeing is healthy and normal. I’m optimistic about the rest of 2022 and all of 2023.
