"What if for one day everything stopped... And we all just listened to the music?"
Even though this seems like a simple idea, if it worked, it could produce profound results.
So in 2014 they decided to share this idea with the world and to their surprise, the idea spread even faster than they could have ever imagined.
In 2018 thousands of musicians from at least 70 countries and thousands of cities participated and the movement continues to grow every day.
Musicians from across the globe, regardless of their differences, are finding common ground through music.
Play Music On The Porch Day knows that music is powerful and universal. It doesn’t matter if you play an Oud, a Guitarrón, a Nyckelharpa, or a Guitar. When you pick up your instrument and start to play the world disappears and you get lost in the sounds.
Music goes beyond words. It can transcend the most difficult barriers. It ties us together like a thread through our hearts. Our skin is many colors but music is in our blood, our bones and our soul.
Join them on August 26, 2023 as they share their talents, their passions, and their music. Together let us show the world the power that music holds.

Come out Saturday, August 26, at 8:30AM for a combination event: butterflies AND wildflowers! You will explore Larkspur Conservation's nature preserve at Taylor Hollow with guest naturalists: Cassy Dorff, Kim Bailey, and Margie Hunter.
Over the course of two hours, the guides will lead you through the preserve identifying a plethora of butterflies and seasonal wildflowers native to the Middle Tennessee area. Be sure to bring a good pair of shoes for the uneven terrain, and a water bottle!
This event is free to the public, so come and join!

If you wish to strengthen your connection with Mother Nature and meet like-minded nature enthusiasts, then they have a program for you! Join them for their first ever installment of the Long Hunter Nature Club as they pick a scenic spot in the park, find a shade tree, pull up our lawn chairs, and talk nature.
Each month they'll visit a different area of the park, sit a spell, observe nature, listen, and discuss. They'll share stories and favorite nature sightings, discuss current nature topics, have some fun, and hopefully learn a few things in the process.
Whether you're young or old, active or have limited mobility, talkative or quiet, a lifelong nature lover or a newbie, this club is for you! You are the key. They want YOU to decide in which direction this club goes.
For their first installment, they'll meet outside the park Visitor Center and then pick the spot. Don't forget your chair, and perhaps some water and insect repellent. Feel feel to bring photos, objects to share, refreshments, binoculars, a notepad, or anything else that might be appropriate. No pets, please.

Join them for the beginning of Grape Harvest and their biggest event of the year. They are changing things up a little this year so we can all share some grape love together. Bring some friends and enjoy some time with your feet in the grapes. They will have communal vates for you to share from 5-6. After you have gotten your feet wet dance then dance the night away to Power Play
**Bring a lawn chair or blanket
**Tents are welcome but ONLY along the outside perimeter of the lawn
**Come EARLY to avoid the rush
**They maintain a friendly environment so please respect others
